The teaching at the school basically follows the National Curriculum in a broad and balanced way. Subjects taught include:

Art, Citizenship, English, French, Geography, German, History, ICT, Mathematics, Music, PE, PSHE, Resistant Materials, Science, Textiles

In Years 12 and 13 options from the following are also available:

Accounting, Art/Graphics, Business Techniclas, Business Studies, Chemistry, Chef Skills/BTEC Home Cooking, Current Affairs, Economics, English/English for Business Communication, French, German, Government & Politics, History, Law, Physics


AS and A2 Level grades in other subjects will be considered/implemented as the occasion arises.

Pupils learn by the SDL method(Self Directed Learning), which actively promotes the school motto of Learning to Learn.

The use of ICT is carefully controlled by the Trustees and Focus Learning Trust



The primary school follows the core subjects (English & Maths) in accordance with the National Curriculum and runs a rolling programme of topics for Science, History, Geography.  These topics include such as the Egyptians, Iron Age, Rocks, Light, Sound, etc.

A further programme of Art & DT, PE and extra/cross curricular subjects/topics is undertaken.
