On the 18th October, the stage was adorned for a feast to remember. Our guests were the year group who had rocketed to entrepreneurial success in the Arthur Rank Fundraising Market Day. Under their famed brand, ‘Rustico’, the youngsters produced home-baking delights worthy of a Michelin-starred summer picnic.
Year 13 felt compelled to reward their feat of brilliance. Given that they had affirmed themselves as gastronomic gurus – only a cordon-bleu meal would cut the mustard. They were all seated elegantly on a star-studded stage, and served with an array of culinary delights. Rump steak, potato fries, onion rings, peppercorn sauce and halloumi and fig salad led the charge, followed by dark chocolate mousse, served with an array of luscious toppings– what a feast … all courtesy of Year 13. Most concluded that they were spending the next week dieting – which of course was the desired result.
